Artist Statement

I traverse the worlds of photography, design, and holistic practices, seeking to capture the interplay between the ephemeral and the enduring. My work reflects a deep connection to nature, tradition, and the human experience—drawing inspiration from textiles, interior spaces, and the meditative beauty of natural light. Whether through the lens of a camera or the tactile intimacy of crafted objects, I aim to create moments of stillness and introspection.

Rooted in the rich cultural heritage of Europe and the Jamaican diaspora, my creative journey intertwines the organic and the intentional. Through my explorations, I embrace the quiet power of minimalism and the vibrant essence of the everyday, celebrating the stories embedded in textures, colors, and environments. My work invites the viewer to pause, reflect, and feel the resonance of beauty in its simplest forms.

As a photographer and product developer with experience ranging from textile sourcing to fine jewellery, I’ve always been drawn to the intersection of artistry and functionality. My work blends the past with the present, allowing the beauty of simplicity to shine through. In my recent role at Bibi van der Velden, I had the opportunity to support this vision come to life, merging timeless craftsmanship with contemporary design.
